UFC Vegas 49 main event featured a lightweight bout between Islam Makhachev and Bobby Green on just 10 days notice at a catchweight of 160 pounds.

At the event, Islam Makhachev finished Bobby Green with ground-and-pound in Round 1. Makhachev now goes for his 10th straight win against late replacement Green.



During his run up the rankings, Makhachev proved he is one of the best lightweights with dominant wins over Dan Hooker, Drew Dober, and Thiago Moises. He now secures a possible shot at UFC gold by defeating the veteran Green.
