The 2021 NXT WarGames is scheduled to take place on December 5, 2021, at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The event will air on pay-per-view (PPV) worldwide and will be available to stream through Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network elsewhere.

On November 9, 2021, NXT's fifth WarGames event was announced to be held on December 5, 2021, at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The announcement confirmed that the event would not be a TakeOver event.



The event revolves around Men's and Women's WarGames matches. The WarGames match consists of two teams, with between three and five participants facing off with each other in staggered entry format.

The show will air live, exclusively on the WWE Network starting at 7 pm ET with a 30-minute preshow beforehand.

Women's WarGames Mach

On the November 16th episode of NXT 2.0, Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai went head-to-head in a non-title match. The match ended with a disqualification when Mandy Rose, Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin of Toxic Attraction attacked Gonzalez.

After the match, Cora Jade came out to help Gonzalez with her skateboard. While Zoey Starkr an out on her crutches. Io Shirai hits Jayne and Dolin with crutches.

Men's WarGames Match

Coming off the November 23rd 2021 edition of WWE NXT 2.0. WWE announced that the Team Old School consisting of Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne and LA Knight) will take on the Team New School consisting of Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Tony D'Angelo, and Grayson Waller) (with Trick Williams).

NXT Tag Team Championship: Imperium (Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner) (c) Vs. Kyle O'Reilly and Von Wagner

On the November 23 episode of NXT 2.0, Legado Del Fantasma's Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza came face-to-face with Kyle O'Reilly and Von Wagner and they started arguing about who should be next to challenge Imperium for their Tag Titles.

Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel stated that It does not matter who challenges them first. They will face the winners of your match at War Games.

On the November 30th episode of NXT, Kyle O’Reilly & Von Wagner defeated Legado del Fantasma for an NXT Tag Team Title opportunity.

Hair Vs. Hair Match: Cameron Grimes vs. Duke Hudson

Cameron Grimes and Duke Hudson had another encounter during the November 23 episode of NXT, with Grimes proposing that they meet at WarGames on December 5 in a Hair vs. Hair Match.
