Bolingbrook, October 16, 2022 - Mustafa Ali has undergone several changes to his character since making his WWE return.
After a seven-month hiatus from television, Ali returned on the July 20, 2020, episode of Raw, teaming with Cedric Alexander and Ricochet to defeat MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin, thus moving to the Raw brand.
He soon turned heel when he was revealed as the leader of the stable Retribution. Ali was also given a Title opportunity where he faced Riddle for the United States Championship but was unsuccessful in capturing the title. He faced Riddle in a rematch for the title at Fastlane but was once again unsuccessful.
Looks like WWE has revamped his look during a live show as he was seen wearing a short trunk for the match. During the show, he teamed up with Matt Riddle to defeat The Alpha Academy.
Back in the day, there were talks about WWE possibly pushing Ali, but could be placed due to injury. Now, it looks like WWE is preparing to pursue Mustafa Ali again. It all started when he was set to face the then-United States Champion Bobby Lashley in a title bout. Although he lost the match, it looked like he was getting the respect of Bobby Lashley and the crowd.
However, after the end of the match, Seth Rollins attacked both Bobby Lashley and Mustafa Ali. And now with Seth Rollins as the new United States Champion, it shouldn't take long for these two superstars to clash in the ring.
