The Forbidden Door 2, a collaborative event between AEW and NJPW, has been announced to take place on June 25 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This fan-favorite concept will bring together the biggest superstars from both promotions, promising an electrifying show.

Last year's event, which was held on June 26, 2022, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, featured renowned wrestlers from NJPW and AEW, including Jon Moxley, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Jay White, Adam Page, Adam Cole, Zack Sabre Jr., and many others.

As fans eagerly await this year's event, they hope to witness the participation of some of the major superstars. One wrestler, in particular, whom fans anticipate seeing is Mercedes Mone. She recently made her NJPW debut and mentioned during a Q&A session at Planet Comic Con that an official phone call is all she needs to confirm her participation in the event.

During an interview with Adrian Hernandez of The Bet Las Vegas & The Sporting Tribune, Tony Khan was questioned regarding Mercedes Mone's status at Forbidden Door 2. Tony Khan stated the following:

Tony Khan: "Well, it's a very encouraging thing to hear and I have so much respect for Mercedes. I think she's such a great pro wrestler and certainly, she's one of the best in the world and Any wrestling company in the world including AEW is very fortunate to have Mercedes and currently she's the world champion for our partner in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

I think she's a great Champion for them. I'm glad she was brought up for, "Forbidden Door," because that's gonna be a very exciting event and certainly the shadow of Mercedes is looming large in New Japan Pro Wrestling right now and when AEW and New Japan Clash at, "Forbidden Door," it'll be very interesting to see what happens. Certainly, she's one of their top stars in New Japan so it Makes for a very interesting situation going into Forbidden Door."
