The former WCW Champion and WWE Hall Of Famer revealed in D Magazine that his contract expires sometime this year and that he plans to make a retirement following his contract expiration.
"His wife worries. So do some of his friends. But they’re also curious. They, too, wonder how Sting’s story ends. “It’s like, How many Super Bowls do I need to win?” Koloff said. “When is enough, enough?”
The story adds that "His deal with AEW expires sometime this year; he won’t say exactly when. When it ends, so will his time behind the face paint."
Sting has always been the most valuable asset to the wrestling world. He is considered one of the most popular and influential wrestlers of the late 20th and early 21st century. Sting was known for his distinctive look, which included face paint and a baseball bat, and his high-energy, athletic in-ring style.
He is a multiple time WCW World Heavyweight Champion,NWA World Heavyweight Champion and TNA World Heavyweight Champion. He is also known for his rivalry with Hulk Hogan and his iconic match at Starrcade 1997. He joined WWE in 2014 and made a few appearances in the ring and events and had a retirement match at WWE Night of Champions 2015.
Sting made his debut in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in December 2020, after a long and successful career in professional wrestling. Sting has been used sparingly in the ring.
