SANADA is stepping up as the new challenger for Kota Ibushi. Tonight's event saw SANADA defeat EVIL. SANDA later showed up after the main event to challenge Ibushi.
The dual champion Kota Ibushi agreed to a future match, but date for the match wasn't announced. As nted Kota Ibushi is still the IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental Champion as he defeated Jay White on Night two of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 15.
On October 18, 2020, Kota Ibushi won the G1 Climax 30 by defeating Sanada in the finals, entitling him to a match for both the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and IWGP Intercontinental Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 15.
Ibushi unsuccessfully defended his Right to Challenge contract at Power Struggle on November 7, losing the contract to Jay White. On November 8, Naito announced that he will be defending the titles against both Ibushi and White on the two nights, Ibushi on night 1 and White on night 2.
Kota Ibushi retained the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Championships against Jay White at today's Wrestle Kingdom 15 in a match that went just over 48 minutes with Ibushi picking up the pinfall victory.
