Roman Reigns Vs. Riddle Set For 6/17 WWE SmackDown

Roman Reigns will defend the WWE Universal Championship next week on Friday Night SmackDown!

Matt Riddle earned the right to challenge Reigns for the title after defeating Sami Zayn in a Championship Contenders match on next week's show. Paul Heyman was on commentary during tonight's main event and teased that Zayn might join The Bloodline if he can beat Riddle.



However, rather disappointing for Sami Zayn, Riddle won the match with RKO. Jimmy and Jay Uso attacked Riddle after the match but Riddle countered him with kendo stick shots.

It was previously reported that Riddle vs. Rains would take place at Money in the Bank pay-per-view, but plans for that show changed when they moved from Allegiant Stadium to the smaller T-Mobile Arena. Reigns is no longer scheduled for the MITB show.
