Mustafa Ali hasn't had an easy year in WWE, but he has shown time and time again that he is not one to give up.
Ali is currently working a program on Raw with United States Champion Seth Rollins. With his work on SamckDown, many believe that Ali may receive an invitation to SmackDown. But this is wrong, Ali is still a part of the Raw roster, and he is expected to work both shows for the next three weeks.
Ali made his return on Monday Night RAW in April of this year and has made sporadic appearances for the brand. Unfortunately, he has not been used well at all since then.
It is still unclear why Ali was selected for the tournament instead of another SmackDown talent. Rey Mysterio was set to be a tournament competitor, but WWE replaced him with Ali.
Before he was announced for the tournament Ali shared this emotional post on Twitter, and his new shirt design with a message directed at both his fans and critics: He wrote the following on Twitter.

Ali will face Ricochet in a first-round match next Friday night. He ended the day with a positive message about being in the tournament.
