For the first time ever in the history of Wrestling long-time rivals Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada teamed at NJPW New Year Dash!!.
The two wrestling legends teamed up for the first time to take on United Empire members Jeff Cobb & Aaron Henare in the main event. The team won the match after Omega & Okada hit a v-trigger/rainmaker combo on Henare followed by Okada hitting a proper Rainmaker on Henare for the win.
The match wasn't made official before the event. It was a surreal moment for fans when they got to see Cobb teaming with Omega. The reaction from the crowd was an absolute pleasure to hear.
As noted, Omega and Okada both wrestled at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 with Omega defeating Will Ospreay to win the IWGP US Title and Okada defeating Jay White to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Title.
