The WWE Women's Championship, originally introduced as the Raw Women's Championship in 2016, returned to its original name in June 2023.

Throughout its history, there have been 27 championship reigns held by 12 different champions. The lengthiest reign belongs to Bianca Belair, lasting 420 days (officially recognized as 419 days by WWE).

Currently, the champion is Iyo Sky, capturing her first title reign by defeating Bianca Belair in a Money in the Bank cash-in match at SummerSlam on August 5, 2023, in Detroit, Michigan.
