Khabib Nurmagomedov is known as the greatest and the longest-reigning UFC Lightweight Champion, having held the title from April 2018 to March 2021.
In his last fight, Nurmagomedov faced Gaethje in a unification bout on 24 October 2020 in the main event at UFC 254. Nurmagomedov won the fight via technical submission with a triangle choke in the second round to defend and re-unify the UFC Lightweight Championship.
In his post-fight interview, Nurmagomedov announced his retirement from mixed martial arts. Nurmagomedov is firm in his decision – and he admits he doesn't really miss the game since hanging up his gloves in late 2020.
While, speaking on The Muslim Money Guys podcast, Khabib Admitted that He Doesn't Really Miss Sport Since Hanging Up His Gloves In Late 2020.
“Honestly no [I don’t miss it], When I miss something like competition, I go to the gym and wrestle, grapple, train. I spend my energy there. Like comeback? Go to the cage? No, I don’t miss it.
“Because all my life, it was on my hands, not inside my heart. It was never inside my heart. Of course I like it, you have to love what you’re doing. I was a very big fan of sports because my goal was to become the best, to become the champion like everybody has to do. But when I’m finished, I’m finished.”
