Jose Aldo vs. Chito Vera To Face-Off At UFC Fight Night 185

It has been confirmed that UFC finalizing Jose Aldo vs. Chito Vera on the final UFC Fight Night on Dec. 19 in Las Vegas. It was first reported by BJPenn.com. That 12/19 Fight Night looking PPV worthy.

Jose Aldo was the fourth and final WEC Featherweight Champion, becoming the first UFC Featherweight Champion after the UFC/WEC merger. He is a former three-time UFC featherweight champion overall, having been the undisputed champion twice and the interim champion once. As of September 22, 2020, he is #7 in the UFC Bantamweight rankings.

Aldo was expected to face UFC Bantamweight Champion Henry Cejudo on May 9, 2020 at then UFC 250. However, Aldo pulled out on April 8 due to visa issues as the event was expected to be moved to the United States due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following Cejudo's title defense against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249, Cejudo announced he would be retiring from active mixed martial arts competition and he vacated the UFC bantamweight championship. The UFC then announced that Aldo would be facing Petr Yan at UFC 251 on July 12, 2020, for the vacant bantamweight title. Aldo lost the bout via technical knockout in round five.

Vera last faced Sean O'Malley on August 15, 2020, at UFC 252. Vera defeated O'Malley via first-round TKO, finishing O'Malley with a flurry of strikes after O'Malley collapsed, apparently suffering some sort of lower leg injury after receiving a calf kick from Vera.
