Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno are set to unify the flyweight titles at UFC 283.
As per the announcement, Flyweight champion Figueiredo will meet interim champ Moreno on Jan. 21 in Rio. Reporter Rodrigo Del Campo was the first to report the news. Figueiredo also announced the signing of the bout Monday on Instagram.
Moreno and Figueredo will face each other for the fourth time. In his first fight at UFC 256 in December 2020, Figueredo retained the flyweight title when the bout ended in a majority draw.
The pair rematched at UFC 263, but Figueredo was eliminated when Moreno submitted him with a rear-naked choke in Round 3. However, Figueredo regained the title when Moreno was eliminated in a trilogy at UFC 270 last January.
A quadruple forward was expected, but the promotion opted to forge an interim title after Figueredo was sidelined due to injury. Moreno faced Kai Cara-France at UFC 277 in July and captured part of the belt when he shut down a Kiwi fighter by a body kick TKO, making a fourth appearance with Figueredo.
