Chris Jericho put his ROH World Championship on the line against a mystery opponent during AEW Dynamite.
Prior to their match on Tonight's Show, Jericho was told that he issued the Open Challenge after losing to Claudio Castagnoli in a tag team match last week. Jericho has been facing off against a former ROH World Champion in recent weeks, but this week made the distinction that it could be any former ROH Champion, not necessarily just World Champion.
Jericho is running through former ROH World Champions in a story in which Jericho declares that he doesn't care about honor.
The challenge was answered by Colt Cabana, who is not a friend of WrestlingInc's Nick Hausman.
Cabana has certainly been the subject of a lot of controversy in recent weeks, with the company reportedly moving to the ROH roster after he signed his expansion. Following his move to ROH, animosity between CM Punk and the Elite began, and is seen by many as the catalyst for CM Punk's unhappiness that led to the AEW All Out Media Scrum.
