Amanda Nunes Tests Positive For COVID-19 And Out Of Her Fight at UFC 265

A major setback has emerged for UFC 265!

According to multiple media reports including, Nolan King and Ariel Helwani, Amanda Nunes has tested positive for COVID-19 and is out of her Aug. 7 fight Vs. Amanda Nunes at UFC 265. The tentative plan is to reschedule for the end of the year, possibly December.



UFC 265 now moves forward with one title fight: Derrick Lewis x Cyril Gane for the interim heavyweight title.

A UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship bout between the current champion Amanda Nunes (also the current UFC Women's Featherweight Champion) and The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rousey vs. Team Tate bantamweight winner Julianna Peña was expected to take place at the event.

UFC 265: Lewis vs. Gane is still set to go as planned. The event will take place on August 7, 2021 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, United States.
