AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa was in the middle of her first reign as AEW Women’s World Champion when she got sidelined with a back injury. La Mera Mera was forced to take a break from in-ring action. She is set to appear at a fan meet & greet this Sunday.
AEW announced Rosa's appearance at the upcoming Meet & Greet:
“Dallas!! @champssports is giving early access to YOU for the first drop of the Diadora x AEW: Player Edition. Come purchase either of the Lucha Bros inspired shoes on 11/5 at Champs Sports @ Shops at Park Lane, for a meet & greet with the Lucha Bros or Thunder Rosa on 11/6.”
Thunder Rosa did not appear on AEW TV after the August 24, 2022, episode of Dynamite. An emotional Rosa revealed that that night she was stepping down as AEW Women's World Champion. Tony Khan booked Toni Storm to replace her as the interim Women's World Champion. Interim AEW Women's World Champion Tony Storm just got her opponent on for full gear and this is one that definitely has history both in and out of the ring.
Rosa responded to the rumors that she exaggerated her injury as well.
