The Elite made their respective return to AEW at Full Gear in a Six-man tag team match for the AEW World Trios Championship against Death Triangle (Pac, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Rey Fénix).
Before making their return, they were two and a half months away from the company. Finally, their return happened at Full Gear but failed to reclaim the AEW Trios Championships losing to Death Triangle's PAC, Rey Fenix, and Penta El Zero M.
The Elite was off television at AEW All Out 2022 after a backstage altercation with CM Punk resulted in multiple suspensions, the firing of Ace Steel, and left CM Punk's AEW status in question. In later interviews, Tony Khan stated that he had nothing but positive things to say about CM Punk's contributions to AEW.
